Xenolath left at Arainya's pleasant request, as she tended to me. Rain was gentle in her healing, and I was soon sleeping on the cot by the fire. After I was seen to the slumber islands, Rain decided to talk to Xenolath. "I can't help but feel like I had something to do with all this," he said, clenching his fists. She simply placed her hand on his shoulder in which he shrugged it off. Alex stepped out into the night air, seeing the two talking and came over to them.


    "I am scared," she said, and held tightly to Rain. "Don't be little one, we are safe here in the grandmother's house. She has been gracious enough to house us." Xenolath tried to calm Alex as well, placing a hand on her back so as to show support. "Will the others be okay?" the small girl asked. "She is sleeping. Within the next couple of days, she will be running and pouncing like never before. For now, she needs her rest."


She looked at the two and finished with, "we all do." They returned to the hut, saw the large sleeping wolf, and then continued on to their own cots. Alex stayed awake to watch the loner, and Skye lay curled into a ball by the one who had birthed him. It was a sweet sight to see mother and child by a fire, in such peaceful bliss. Alex drifted, and was soon sleeping in a chair. Upon the midnight hour, I woke up to find Skye looking at me. He was shivering and whimpering. I felt the need to cuddle as well, and Xenolath was the closest one to our cot. Taking Skye into my teeth, I took him over to the large mattress that he was sleeping on, laid Skye softly onto it, and curled by Xenolath, who did not seem to notice that we had moved beds. Sleeping once more, I drifted heavily to the slumber islands again.
